Steven Benoit, a community peace officer in Wheatland County, has received an honor from Alberta Emergency Services.

On Wednesday, the county made a post on its Facebook page, announcing that Benoit had been awarded the Alberta Emergency Services Medal. 

In order to be eligible for the AESM, individuals must have over 12 years of cumulative service in the community. According to the county, this medal honors those dedicated to emergency prevention, preparedness, and response.

A photo of Benoit with the medal was posted to the county's Facebook page, with the post congratulating Benoit for receiving the prestigious award.
