Last weekend the Strathmore High School held their Spartan Invitational that saw many of the top teams for their league compete in a series of matches over the two-day tournament.

Working hard to prepare the team, Head coach for the girl's team Randy Moncks says, " We played well with six players and one libero.  Three players were missing due to previous commitments.  Unfortunately, we did not win a single match in the tournament, but we scored well in each set, and continued to battle in every set making the opposition work hard for their wins."

Each encounter brought the team experience facing these exact opponents in the upcoming Zones tournament on November 15 to 16.

When asked about the chances of being at full strength, Monck replied, "Yes, we will have all ten players.  Our tall middle is back and, we hope to be competitive at zones.  In reality, we want to be the spoiler for some teams hopefully knocking off some of the top teams."
