The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Town of Strathmore and the Strathmore Handi-Bus Association has been approved.

According to the town, on December 8, 2021 Council made Resolution 431.12.21 which states “that Council approve the Memorandum of Understanding with the Strathmore Handi-bus Association as presented; and Council direct Administration to offset 50 per cent or ($37,348) of the 2020 account receivable of $74,695 from the Strathmore Handi-bus Association 2021 funding, with the financial write off being funded from unallocated surplus.”

In the past the handi bus services were delivered by the Town of Strathmore, in 2020 the handibus association board made the decision to become a separate entity.

Earlier this month the Strathmore Handi-Bus Association came as a delegation before council to propose a revised MOU.

At the March 16 council meeting, the council authorized the Mayor and CAO to execute the Memorandum of Understanding with the Strathmore Handi-Bus Association.
