The Village of Rockyford has announced a by-election for the fifth seat on their council after a non-resident voted in the Town’s previous election.
“We only have a Council of five people, so there was a tie between 5th place. So, that one vote could have made a difference,” explained Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Rockyford, Elaine Macdonald.
With that one vote disqualified, Kathleen Morin who received 67 votes and April Geeraert who received 66 votes tied.
The day to get names in to run for the fifth seat is February 14, and the by-election will be held on March 14.
