A local restaurant in Strathmore is finding a way to pay it forward and support their neighbours who are in need. Papa John’s Pizza Strathmore will be out and about during the March for Shelter on Sunday, March 20, raising funds for the Strathmore Overnight Shelter.

We spoke with Papa John’s Pizza Strathmore manager Farhan Lakhani about why it’s important that they support the shelter.

“In the community, we have underprivileged people who don't have the resources to go out and do something for themselves, and they feel helpless in lot of ways. We just being a small part of this community and we just want to come out and give a hand either by supporting them with the food or with some monetary help,” he said. “Not too many people, they pay attention to these kinds of causes,” said Lakhani.

He said they want to get the ball rolling.

“If all of us, or even one member from the family, if they come out and they take some initiative, I think it should be a great help to the people in need,” he said. “One person needs to start and go out and do something.”

During the March for Shelter, when you purchase from Papa John’s Pizza they will be offering 25 per cent off orders, and from there 15 per cent of the cash spent will go directly to the Strathmore Overnight Shelter.
