The 104.5 More Country crew made their last stop for Seed and Feed powered by Jay's Mechanical Repairs at the Praeker Family Farm with a pizza lunch from Mike's Bar and Grill in Strathmore.

The dedicated and hard-working crew was nominated by Dorothy Bodeux who is no stranger to the Seed and Feed program and also nominated Kerora farms this year.

Herman Praeker is a third-generation farmer on the family farm the crew seeds spring wheat, malt barley, faba beans, dry peas, and canola on their 4500-acre farm that has been in operation since 1915.

Herman was happy to report that his farms seeding season went very smoothly and contained very little surprises.

“We were happy to get some moisture. The rain and snow helped a lot and we finished pretty early this year, probably earliest ever May 17th.”

The Praeker family received their century family farm award last year.  The Century Family Farm and Ranch Award is presented to families who have continuously owned and operated the same land for 100 years or more.
