High River RCMP have caught a suspect who was in the middle of swapping plates on a vehicle, and now a number of stolen items have been returned to their rightful owners.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, High River RCMP were notified by the High River Fire Department of male swapping plates on a vehicle at an auto dealership.

When police located the vehicle they were able to block it in at the business parking lot.

The vehicle was found to be stolen and the driver Tony Siwalowski of Calgary was arrested. He was charged with possession of stolen property. Inside the vehicle, cops found other stolen items like credit cards, license plates, tools, and catalytic converters.

Siwalowski has been remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace. He faces additional charges, which include breach of a court order, Possession of stolen property and mischief.

He is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Friday, August 21.
