It's almost time to don your best cowboy boots and hat as the Strathmore Stampede Parade is gearing up to showcase some fun floats.

Registration is now open for float entries and the event will be hosted by the Strathmore Wheatland Chamber of Commerce.

The special day will start in our town's downtown at the Strathmore Municipal Building at 9 a.m. on August 3 and will weave through the main streets.

According to Cassi Weiss, director of the chamber, the parade is a good way for residents to come together.

"It's a great opportunity to advertise your business and also just be a part of this local community."

Weiss told us around 100 floats took part in last year's parade and for this year's initiative the chamber is offering help to nonprofits.

"The parade is free of charge for entry for nonprofits. So, if any nonprofits are looking to enter the parade just send us an email and we will supply you with a promo code."
