Routine maintenance is the cause of a power outage that will take place in Strathmore today (Oct. 21) and on Saturday.

Fortis Alberta’s planned power outage map confirms that there will be an outage that affects 7 customers on Thursday. The outage will be located south of the Trans Canada Highway on the west side of the town.

The second outage will occur in the same region on October 23 and will affect roughly 30 customers.

According to Fortis Alberta, tomorrow’s outage is for planned maintenance and upgrades in the area. In order to perform their work safely, there will be a planned outage from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Similar upgrades will take place on Saturday.
