The U12B Rockyford Ringers headed to Leduc with family and friends to compete in a tournament in Leduc over the weekend. 

After a hard fought weekend, the team was in a position to go for gold against Spruce Grove on Sunday. The Ringers found themselves having to borrow equipment for players after two of their girls had their equipment stolen the night before the gold medal game. 

Nearing the end of regulation, the Ringers were up 6-5, with 19 seconds left in the game Spruce Grove scored to tie the game 6-6 sending the Ringers into sudden-death overtime.  The team fought through overtime, at one point with two of their players in the penalty box. 

There were no goals scored in overtime and the game went to a shootout,  Spruce Grove won the shootout and took home gold.  The Ringers came home with a hard-fought silver medal.  

Coach Bradie Munroe said, "It was a great weekend with great teammates, friends, parents, and grandparents."
