Bow River MP Martin Shields’ annual hot dog fundraiser is back on July 30! Shields will be hosting the library fundraiser with guest Chestermere-Strathmore MLA Leela Sharon Aheer.

You can get a hotdog, chips and a bottle of water at Kinsmen Park at11 a.m. after the annual Strathmore Stampede parade. Not only do you get to enjoy a nice lunch, you’ll also be supporting the Strathmore Municipal Library. The proceeds of the barbecue go towards supporting the library, and with your donation you can cool off on a hot summer day with a bottle of water, a hot dog, and chips.

“We've been longtime supporters for the library and all over the riding, I have a background in supporting libraries. I’ve been on library boards and you've got great libraries in this community,” said Shields.

He added that Strathmore has always been great at supporting the library.

“People donate generously. We've had great support and great turn out, and the library really appreciates people coming out and supporting the library, as we do,” said Shields.

“We like to support the library and people come along after a great parade and have a hot dog.”

Shields pointed out that the library does much more than you may think. Their services go beyond books.

“You know people don't realize how much services they do provide, they are open longer than most anything else in the community.”
