Playing in their second tournament since the season started the SHS Girls Basketball team have built on a semi-final loss in the first week to a close second place this past weekend.  Kyle Larson, Head Coach for the Girls Basketball team outlines the progress of the tournament, "We had four games this weekend, and played pretty good in all four. We won the first three and ended up losing by 8 in the final 50 - 42 to Brooks they were actual zones champs last year. they played a two-three zone, and we just had a little trouble with the zones. I mean it was a good defense to play considering how we were shooting but hopefully, next time we see them we will be a little more prepared to bust that zone down."

Focusing on the strengths of the team, Larson says they have some great base skills, "Our defense is shown to be pretty solid right now, our rebounding is pretty good in all the games actually, the offence is coming for sure. My point guard Syndey Edwards she had a very good weekend she has been consistently solid for us all."

They have a regular game on Wednesday night and they want to improve by learning from past mistakes Larson says, "We weren't really good against the zone which led to some runout layup so we got to focus on passing and not turning the ball over kind of between top of the key and center court because that leads to run out lay up and our shooting. We focus on that at every practice. We spend a fair bit of time on shooting under pressure, and so those will definitely continue to be the focal points for the next little bit."

Both Senior Boys and JV Boys teams will be playing that night as well.
