The Strathmore High School Senior Girls Basketball Team had a close match on Monday beating out Oilfield High School out of Black Diamond 60 to 58.  It was an extremely defensive game that vastly improved from the last meeting.  Head Coach Kyle Larson talked about the pace of play, "Played Oilfield just before Christmas, I think they shot the ball really well. I think they shot a dozen three-pointers against us that first night. Yeah we kind of change up our defensive strategies and matched up a little better with them on the perimeter, and we had a solid defensive effort last night."

The team has not lost its stride.  Larson had some fear about the team getting a little rust over the holiday break, but they came together without skipping a beat.  He talked about the standouts from their latest victory, "Natalie Funk had a great game last night. They couldn't contend with her size, and she finished really well around the basket, and was really solid at the foul line for us. She was definitely an offensive standout, and Sydney Edwards really looked after the ball for us, and has a solid fourth quarter. The same thing really stepped up and made some clutch free throws for us."

Their next challenge will be the Spartan invitational on February 14 and 15, 2020 where we will expect to see some fantastic High School Basketball.
