Drive with caution on roads in and around Strathmore this morning. Heavy snow continues to blanket much of southern Alberta on Wednesday October 3.

The snow will taper off this morning, but expect another 2 to 4 cm of snow today.

Visibility may be reduced on local highways due to heavy snow.

The Trans Canada Highway remains partially snow-covered between the City of Chestermere and Strathmore with fair visibility.

There’s a semi-truck in the centre median of the Trans Canada Highway at Chestermere heading eastbound towards Strathmore.

A snowfall warning has ended for Wheatland County and Strathmore.

For drivers that need a tow, Yellow Hook Towing reports that right now there’s a 15 minute wait time, and for City Wide Towing and Recovery there’s a 60 to 90 minute wait time, but that may change to 2 hours, once more people get on the road.

In terms of taxi wait times, for Strathmore Taxi local cab companies advise residents to call a cab half an hour before the start of their shift. There is between a 10 to 15 minute wait time with three cabs on the road.
