There is no messing with the Strathmore Spartans Football Team this year as they have taken on and beaten every opponent on the field.

“Our team so far is undefeated,” explained manager and defensive coordinator for the Strathmore Spartans, Kyle Tucker. “We are 8-0 at this point in the season. We've had a few exhibitions with Chestermere and Medicine Hat, and then we've also played Olds, Drumheller, and Canmore.”

The team recently just faced off against the Drumheller Titans on Saturday at home, “It was a pretty close back and forth game. We ended up winning 52 to 28.”

The team has two more games ahead of them before playoff season begins. They are up against Olds this weekend, then Canmore next weekend.

“I would say our defense started off a bit of a slow but made good adjustments and did really well after the first drive and then the offence had lots of good guys. There were good contributions from everybody.”

The team is looking forward to their next home game which is a semifinal zone playoff game on October 30 at 1:30 pm. They have three more away games to play before that.

The Strathmore Spartans are currently fundraising by selling Coco Brooks pre-packaged meals. Those interested can contact Tucker at kyle.tucker@ghsd75.ca.
