The Strathmore Spartans Football Team is preparing for a semifinal playoff game tomorrow against Holy Trinity Academy.

“We've been practicing pretty hard,” explained manager and defensive coordinator for the Strathmore Spartans, Kyle Tucker. “We have been adapting our defence and offence as best we can for our game against Holy Trinity Academy.”

Tucker continued to say that Holy Trinity used to be in the same league as the Spartans, but they have only met them a handful of times over the past couple of years.”

“They are a very strong program and we know what they're capable of, but we haven't played them this year.”

Other than practicing hard this week, coaches are also instilling important values into the players as they start their playoff run.

“We really preach to the guys about hard work and work ethic. So if we show up and commit to our jobs and do everything, we've been working so hard on this year. I think we'll have a lot of success.”

If the Spartans win this game, they then move on to the championship game the following weekend. If they succeed, then they will be going all the way to provincials.

The Spartans play Holy Trinity Academy on Saturday at 1 pm at the SHS field.
