The Strathmore Spartans Football team is coming off yet another hot win against the Chestermere High School Lakers, 36-6. Making them still undefeated as they are now 5-0 (6-0 if you include preseason games).
The team being on fire is something that Head Coach Danny Warrack is thrilled about but on the flip side, he explains that they haven't played any powerhouse teams this season yet.
"It's really hard to gauge where we're at, but I think considering who we have played we have done okay, and I am pretty happy with the effort that the team has put into games for the most part."
One of the teams main problems is always having penalty trouble, something that Warrack says they really need to work on.
"We have got to find a way to calm down and not do stupid things during the game when things get a little bit headed but for the most part things went really well for us this game."
Since Thanksgiving weekend is coming up the Sr. Spartans Football team is going to be playing but there will be a junior varsity game played against Strathmore High School and Holy Trinity Academy on Thursday October 5 at 3 at Strathmore High School.
"It's a good learning opportunity for some guys who don't get much playing time and also kind of gives us an idea of what we got for the for the next year's team."
The Spartans will be hitting the field again on October 13 to play Cold Lake High School in Fort Saskatchewan.
