Summer will officially be ending next week with the first day of fall coming sooner than most would like on September 22nd.  This weekend Mother Nature has a pretty nice forecast to head out and enjoy the last few days of summer, and there are some great activities and events happening in town all weekend long!  

From farmer's markets to bulls here are some of the events happening across town this weekend!  

Farmer's market Friday

It's a true sign that fall is just around the corner when we get to the last outdoor Farmer's Market of the season. Well, that is where we are, today (Friday, Sept. 16). 
The Pavillion at Kinsmen Park will be buzzing once again with activity as vendors and shoppers fill the shopping area.  This will be the last market of the season; after a busy summer and great weather the market will get going at 3 today and wrap up for the season at 6:30.

Community night at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre

The Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre has partnered with the Strathmore FCSS to bring you Community Night. Come to the Sports Centre to find out more about sports and fitness programs and activities being offered for adults and youth in Strathmore. Community Sports groups will be on hand to share program and registration information. The Sports Centre will be also providing some new program demos!

Lazy P Rodeo Last Cowboy Standing

Lazy P Rodeo is back for a second year hosting the Last Cowboy Standing event at the Strathmore Ag Grounds on Saturday, Sept. 17th at 1 pm. There are just a few tickets left for this event that will showcase some of the best pro and amateur bull riders who will be battling it out to see who will be the LAST COWBOY STANDING! AB Culture Days Celebration

As part of Alberta Culture Days the Vault Cultural Collective will be celebrating their first anniversary! 

There will be entertainment and displays taking place throughout the day from 11-3, details of demonstrations can be found here.

Terry Fox Run Sunday

Head to Kinsmen Park on Sunday afternoon to participate in this year's Terry Fox Run, registration will begin at 12:30 with the opening ceremonies and run beginning at 1. 

People can participate in the 1KM walk/run around Kinsmen Park or can go on a longer trek which will include Gray's Park.  

Run organizer Diana Baird said that as this is set to be on all paved surfaces everyone of all abilities can participate. Everyone is also encouraged to come down and get involved even if they have not collected donations this year.  

Kings Game Sunday

Your Wheatland Kings are back for another action-packed season of hockey with their seasons set to officially get underway this weekend. 

The team will be busy with 3 games coming up!  

On Friday, Sept 16. they will be taking on the Rocky Rams at the Rocky arena, and heading to Red Deer on Saturday to take on the Vipers. 

On Sunday they are back home for the season home opener and are set to hit the ice at 4:30 and take on the Cochrane Generals!
