On January 5, 2023, Strathmore RCMP assisted members of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction unit in recovering stolen property on a property in Rockyford during a search warrant. 

Four vehicles and an RV trailer were recovered, along with 25 grams of suspected fentanyl and 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Stolen licence plates, stolen identification documents, and office equipment used to create fraudulent ID and financial cards were recovered as well.

46 year old Rockyford resident Jason Lazette was arrested on the property has been charged with 27 charges, some of which include:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x5)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000 (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Obtain/Possess identity information (x8)
  • Possess a prohibited firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order (x4)

Vehicles recovered included:

  • 2017 Honda Civic
  • 2020 Hyundai Elantra
  • 2007 Ford F550
  • 2003 Chev Silverado
  • 2009 Heartland Big Country RV Trailer.

After a judicial interim hearing, Lazette was remanded in custody and his next court appearance is in Strathmore Provincial Court on January 17, 2023.
