In March 2022, RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SADCRU) began a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation into a suspected drug dealer from Linden, Alberta who was believed to be trafficking drugs into Three Hills and Drumheller.
On July 4, 2022, Mandy Lynne Russell (40) of Linden was arrested with assistance from Strathmore RCMP and charged with the following:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
SADCRU seized 24 grams of suspected fentanyl and 21.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine during the investigation.
Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Russell was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on July 15, 2022.
At the time of her arrest, Russell was already facing charges for similar offences out of Drumheller and on a court-ordered Release Order with conditions.
