On July 15 from around 11:55 to 11:57 PM, a red/orange colored Jeep was caught doing burnouts through the Town of Strathmore Municipal Building parking lot. The reckless driving wasn't just in the parking lot though, as the Jeep also went onto the front pad area and the grass entrance into Kinsmen Park. As a result, the grassy area was damaged and tire tracks were embedded in front of Town Hall and throughout the parking lot.

Staff Sergeant and Detachment Commander of Strathmore RCMP Mark Wielgosz while this may seem like relatively harmless fun, it creates unnecessary costs for the Town.

“The Town of Strathmore invests considerable effort to provide and maintain parks and pathways for the public to enjoy. While those involved may have thought their actions were fun, it only serves to ruin amenities for the rest of residents who enjoy using them, resulting in unnecessary cost to repair,” Wielgosz said.

Three people were seen in the Jeep, and Strathmore RCMP are requesting the community's help in identifying the vehicle, owner, and occupants.
