The Strathmore Run Club had seven members compete on Saturday, February 9 in the Hypothermic half marathon which consisted of 21.1 km. 

Jenn McLennan, Heather Busch, Dianna Baird, Aia Hughes, Tanya Dowling, Tammy Gordon, Michelle Baird, and Trena Aspin all headed out in the frigid temperatures to run the marathon. 

When the started the race, runner Heather Busch said, " It came under the extreme cold warning and was -39 with the windchill but we were layered well, you just get into a mindset and you just go."

Dianna Baird got in 11,000 steps as the official team cheerleader Baird said, "I was jumping up and down trying to keep warm I was part of the pit crew there to support the club, but also Michelle my daughter she was there and she was our primary focus as this was her first half marathon."

Michelle Baird taking part in her first half marathon finished third in her division with a time of 2:07, and Heather Busch in that same division finished in a time of 2:12.  

The Strathmore Run Club is a fun run club and is open to runners of all levels to join.  They will be starting a learn to run session in the lead up to the Off The Rails 5k race the club will be holding in Strathmore later this year.
