Strathmore Soccer Association had two teams participate in this year's Provincials where they showed a ton of heart and team spirit.

Ryan Parkins, Technical Director for Strathmore Soccer Association explained, “Our U13 team opened the tournament with a close battle falling by only 1 goal and ultimately finished outside the medals. For most, if not all of these players this was a first Provincials appearance and they made all the SSA supporters proud with their effort right to the last whistle.”

“Our U15 side opened with a win which was enough to get them through the round-robin stage, however after defending a lead for much of the semi-final (4-4 at FT) lost in a shootout. Undeterred the team banded together to a convincing victory over a quality Rio Terrace side to secure the Bronze medal,” he said.

Parkins noted that this tournament weekend was a prime example of how young players can dig deep in spite of having a "short" bench where on average the SSA sides had 5-6 fewer players.
