Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Strathmore and the surrounding areas at 10:15 this morning (Tuesday, Nov. 1) 

With snow expected to start this afternoon and heavy snow expected to continue into Wednesday, total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected. Snow will begin this morning along the Rockies and spread eastward during the day with the potential for more than 30 cm over mountain areas.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.

The snowfall warning includes but is not limited to:

  • Strathmore
  • Lyalta
  • Carseland 
  • Standard 
  • Gleichen
  • Hussar
  • Rocky View Co. near Chestermere Dalroy and Dalemead
  • Siksika Res. 146
  • Vulcan County
  • Bassano
  • Brooks Rosemary and Duchess

In addition, a snowfall warning has also been put in place across Southern Alberta, including but not limited to The Foothills, Calgary, and Airdrie.
