It was a tough weekend on the road for the Strathmore Wheatland Kings as they travelled to Coaldale to meet the Copperheads.

General Manager of the Kings, Lee Smith, said the team worked hard throughout the game but couldn’t make it back into the win column.

“We lost 5-2. We did play pretty well, we had one little lapse for about 10 minutes and it cost us three goals.”

When asked about what the team will be working on this week before their next home game, Smith said, “This week we're going to be trying to turn it up a notch and play a full 60 minutes of hockey on Saturday. We have Lomond at home and it's almost getting to the point where it's a must-win game so we can stay in 4th place in the division.”

Off the ice, the team got out and helped the crew at the Strathmore Celebrations of Lights. They volunteered their off time to help make a beautiful Christmas display this year!

The Kings next home game is this Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena. Tickets to the event can be purchased on EventBrite.ca
