With the regular season wrapping up last Saturday, the Strathmore Wheatland Kings are looking forward to the first round of the playoffs where they will take on the Medicine Hat Cubs. Assistant Coach Blake Bishop talked about his team's season overall and said, "It was up and down. The boys played good for the most part and obviously you take your lumps here and there, but I'm proud, it was good."

Despite how the regular season goes for any hockey team, anything can happen in the playoffs. Coach Bishop said the team is preparing for the first round with some, "high tempo practices, to make sure they're prepared because playoffs is a different game." When asked about how his team will make it far in the playoffs, Bishop said, "you just got to be ready to work because you know the other team is going to be bringing it, so you got to bring it just as much."

The Kings will play game one of the first round of the playoffs in Medicine Hat tonight at 8:15 p.m. Game 2 will be in Strathmore on Friday with game three to follow on Sunday in Medicine Hat. If game four is needed, it will be back in Strathmore on Monday with a tentative final game five to take place in Medicine Hat.
