The number of Albertans who have passed away from the coronavirus now stands at 23 after three more people died in the past 24 hours.  

The people who died in the last day were in the Calgary Zone, the Central Zone, and the North Zone.  That makes 14 deaths in Calgary, four in Edmonton, four in the North and one in the Central Zone.  

106 of the reported cases are from continuing care facilities where strong outbreak measures are now in place.    

There are now 1,250 cases of the disease in Alberta, an increase of 69 from the day before.  The Calgary Zone is the hardest hit, reporting 774 cases or 62 percent of the total in the province.

In the Airdrie region, one more case was added to the 12 already reported.  Among other communities in the area, Chestermere has 15 cases, the Cochrane-Springbank area 13, Crossfield has just a single case, while Didsbury reports three cases.

84 Albertans have had to be hospitalized with the virus.  48 of them are still hospitalized of which 13 have been admitted to ICUs.  

Of the total cases, 152 are suspected of being community spread.  

The number of Albertans who have recovered from COVID-19 is reported at a total of 279 which is 39 more than the total of the day before.

64,806 tests for COVID-19 have now been done in the province.

In Canada, 15,425 people have been infected.  The death toll in the country now stands at 277.  2,859 Canadians have now recovered from COVID-19. 

Worldwide, there are now nearly 1.3 million cases of coronavirus with nearly 70,000 deaths now reported.  More than 261,000 people have now recovered around the world.
