It's almost that time of year again, summer time, and with it the celebration of The Strathmore Stampede and Heritage Days.

The Town of Strathmore voted to support the Strathmore Stampede this year to the tune of $25,750. This year the stampede falls on August 2nd to 5th.

The event is one of the largest that supports Strathmore and it's rural communities by drawing in tourist dollars.

Mayor Pat Fule said, “On behalf of council I would like to add that we believe in what the agricultural society brings to Strathmore in the way of the rodeo. We think it is a great tourist attraction. For many many days it brings in a lot of people who support our local economy.”

“We hope and we wish for the Ag. Society to be successful in their hosting the rodeo,” said Fule.

Councillor Bob Sobol also noted that this year may be a special one for the Strathmore and District Agricultural Society as well. The RCMP Musical Ride is going to be present during the rodeo.

“We are going to see larger crowds weather permitting,” he said. “It's an exciting year for the Ag society and the rodeo,” he said.
