The Wheatland County and Crowther Memorial Junior High School had their annual regional track meet that saw six schools from the area and 800 student-athletes participants.

The schools included George Freeman, Trinity, Holy Cross Collegiate, Siksika, Wheatland Crossing, and the hosting school Crowther Memorial.

Track Director Brad Steele said, "It is a full meet, and if If you compare us to the Olympics, we have all of the events except the Pole Vault and Hammer Throw, but other than those it is all of them."

Steele when on to explain why athletes are competing, "Since it is our school meet everyone from Crowther Memorial should compete and the top two athletes for each event was sent from the surrounding schools and the overall winners from today will represent us at Zones competition at Calgary Foothills track on May 29.."

All of the events were run by the Crowther Memorial staff and the events need to run in sequential order because they could not have multiple races at the same time.

Javelin and Long Jump were the most popular events where they saw 80, or 90 kids participate.
