The U12C Ice Warriors, U14C Ice Renegades, and the U16B Ice ringette teams headed to Red Deer over the weekend to participate in the Red Deer Friends On Ice Tournament.   After a hard fought weekend the U14C and U16B teams were in the finals going for gold.

The U14C Ice Renegades found themselves down a player due to a concussion, the team played in the final against Pembina who had previously won gold in two other tournaments the team had attended.  After a back and forth game against a very strong Pembina team, the Renegades took away the silver medal.

The U16B Ice played well throughout the weekend and earned their spot in the gold medal final against Red Deer.  Down a player due to a broken collarbone, the team came out strong and won the gold medal

with a final score 7-3.

Coach Ben Sader said, " Our team is a very close team and have bonded well together.  We have players from both the Hussar and Strathmore associations that have come together as one and worked incredibly well.  He went on to say that after 2 successful tournaments the girls are feeling really good but do know there is work ahead and they can still improve heading toward provincials, with praise for his team all around Sader said the team is working hard on shutting the opponents down through strong defense and outstanding goaltending.
