After a defeat in High River, the local Venom Lacrosse Junior team had their home opener May 4, at the Strathmore Family Center.   Still experiencing the setbacks of being a new team the Venom lost with a score of 7 to 14 for Cranbrook.

John Peters, President of Strathmore Lacrosse commented on the experience as a whole will be improved, "Next time we will have the concessions open and it would be nice to enjoy the game with a cool beer and the team showed some great potential in the offense department but the defense will need to catch up.  We also have some new strategies we will work on."

The next home game will be this Friday when Strathmore welcomes the visiting High River Heat at 8 p.m. on the Gold arena in the Strathmore Family Center.
