On May 18, 2019, the Strathmore Venom Lacrosse Bantam B team headed up the road to Red Deer to compete in the Red Deer Lacrosse Association's The Tradition Lives tournament.

The 17 team members have only faced two regular games in the season but had the opportunity to play in two tournaments that resulted in a lot of play time for the team

Glen Shaw, head coach of the team said,"Since the beginning of the season this team has really bound together and we have some great skill throughout and the win was a result of skill and determination."

In the Red Deer tournament, the Venom did have some stiff competition, but won the gold medal.  Shaw talked about the matches, "They came up against a team that was really aggressive and we matched them pound for pound.  We lost one game by one and then won the next by one, so it was a good competition between the clubs."

The next match will be at the Strathmore Tournament the Redneck Rumble on Friday, where their first matchup will be against Medicine Hat.
