Warm Weather Leads To Poor Ice Conditions

The Lions Outdoor Rink has been closed due to poor ice quality. The rink is closed until the weather cools enough for flooding to occur.

The ice surface at Terry Ray Clark Park is also closed.

In terms of Strathmore and Kinsmen Lakes, the town says that both are measuring over 16 inches of good quality (clear blue) ice. There’s about an inch of water and slush on top however so we would not advise skating for this reason, but the ice is safe.

The town of Strathmore’s Operations Team is monitoring ice conditions and will provide updates if conditions change.
