It's almost time for Langdon Days to take over the hamlet.

According to staff with the Langdon Community Association, the initiative is a fundraiser for the organization. It's also the biggest fundraiser of the year for the group.

The funds from the event will support the LCA in maintaining and upgrading the existing park and facilities. As well, the LCA has partnered with the Langdon Little League and Langdon Softball Association with some of the funds going to those organizations.

LCA chair, Nicole Porquet-Seitz says the event is community focused.

"It's a great volunteer opportunity. We have over 200 volunteers that help us run this weekend. So, it's just a great community spirit event as well as raising money and it involves all the local businesses."

According to Porquet-Seitz, the event attracts people from different towns and cities including Strathmore.

"We see people who invite their out-of-town family to come. We know lots of families plan to have get-togethers with grandparents or what not that come to town and enjoy the festivities."
