There’s so much to do and see in Strathmore for Canada Day!

The day starts with an Indigenous memorial and recognition daybreak ceremony from 7:30-9 a.m., as well as a traditional pancake breakfast hosted by the Strathmore Fire Department that will run from 7-10 a.m.

Wear red on Canada Day and head down to Kinsmen Park, where lots of activities will be happening for the whole family.

The opening ceremonies take place at 11 a.m. with the singing of the National Anthem. There will be musical entertainment all day.

There'll be plenty of excitement for the kids at Kinsmen Park, with activities including a petting zoo, kids games like gladiator jousting, bouncy castles, and face painting from 11:30-4:30.

You'll also have a chance to canoe on the lake from 12-3 and enjoy fishing with the family from 11:30-4:30 p.m.

If you’re a kid, decorate your bike and bring it over to Kinsmen Park to enter the bike decorating contest for your chance to win a prize! The bike contest and parade will start at 12:30.

There will also be a chance to munch away on a cool treat during the watermelon eating contest at 2:30, along with a Canada Day farmers market. Enjoy the outdoors and take in magic shows, concerts, train rides and more.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Canada Day without a fireworks show. The town, along with the Fireworks Factory, are hosting the fireworks show down at Kinsmen Park this year at 11 p.m., and what a sight it will be. So come out and celebrate with your neighbours for Canada Day in Strathmore.
