A moderate fire risk in Wheatland County has resulted in a fire advisory being put in place on August 9.

The fire advisory affects permit fires. Exemptions to the ban include camp stoves, internal household fireplaces, incinerator (for farm and acreage use), solid fuel barbecues (charcoal briquettes) and more.

According to Wheatland County, a fire advisory is issued for moderate fire risk. A fire ban (restriction) is issued for a severe fire risk and a full fire ban is issued for extreme fire risk.
