An extremely successful weekend food drive for the Wheatland County Foodbank. Between 120 volunteers, 350 volunteer hours and over 4500 homes, the drive turned out to be the largest single day donation for the local food bank.

The bags for residents to fill up with non-perishable food items were donated by Strathmore's own Co-op, and all 4500 bags were filled to the brim with items. Making a total of 10,800 pounds of food that was collected and around $375 in cash donations that was made to the food bank.

Food Bank volunteer, Jonathan Taylor expressed that they are really appreciative of the outpouring support from the community.

"There was a lot of participation, people were very generous in giving their support to the Wheatland County Food Bank and they needed it. Their shelves were starting to get really empty and now it is filled, overflowing even."

Taylor leaves off with a big Thank You to the community and to all of the volunteers that lent a helping hand along the way.
