The Wheatland Kings played against the Cochrane Generals at home on December 11, 2018. Even though the team lost to the Generals, the Kings finished strong.

The first period was fast and defensive, with no goals earned from the Kings. The Generals earned their first goal of the game before the end of the period, leading into the second period 1-0 for the Generals.

The second period had two more goals scored in the first half for Cochrane. The second half of the period was defensive, ending the second period 3-0 for the Generals.

The third period started up with another goal for the Generals, however the Kings fought back. Isaac Benoit, assisted by Lucas Muenchrath, earned the teams first goal of the match. The Generals came back with another point earned for Cochrane. This was followed up by another goal for the Kings earned by Garret Vanderploeg and assisted by Brenden Moore. With only one and a half minutes left in the game, and right after the Generals scored their sixth goal, Benoit scored his second goal of the night from Bailey Filkohazy. This ended the game with a 6-3 for the Generals.

Although the Kings lost this game they finished strong, which will show in their final game before the start of the holiday season this Saturday, at 8:00 p.m. in Strathmore against the Lomond Lakers.
