The Strathmore Wheatland Kings played host to the Cochrane Generals on Sunday, November 24. Prior to the game, the Kings organization gave fans free entry with a donation to the Wheatland County Food Bank. 

On Sunday, November 17 the Kings faced the Generals at home and suffered a 4-2 loss, looking to rebound this game the Kings came out quick in the first period. 

With nine penalties handed out in the first period, it was a rough start to the game for both teams and the Kings found themselves down by two at the end of the first heading into the locker room with the score at 2-0.

In the second period, both teams settled down and only three penalties were given with no goals from either team. 

During the third period, the Kings mounted a comeback with goals from Wacy Sandum and Kody Hammond.  A late penalty with less than two minutes left in the game, for too many men on the ice, put the Kings back on the penalty kill and with five seconds left in the third period, a power-play goal was scored to give the Generals a 3-2 win. 

The Kings currently sit sixth in the standings just ahead of the Lomond Lakers and are looking for a couple of wins to move up.  The team will be away on November 29 to play the Stettler Lightning, returning home on Saturday, November 30 for an 8 p.m. game against the Red Deer Vipers.
