The Wheatland Kings played against the Mountainview Colts in last nights home game. By the end of the intensely fought game the victory went to the Kings.

The first period of the game was a fast and defensive one, but picked up with the Kings scoring their first two goals of the match. The Colts fought back, however, scoring their first two goals of the game, ending the period in a tied 2-2.

The second period started to pick up quick with two more goals for the Kings. The Colts fought back scoring two more goals, earning their second goal with just five minutes left in the period. The Kings followed up with one more goal, ending the second period 5-4 Kings.

The third period was a fast and defensive one for the majority of the period. However the defensive streak was broken when the Colts scored their fifth goal of the match with only six minutes left in the period. With only four minutes left in the period however, the Kings got a ten minute penalty, yet this did not stop the Kings from taking home the victory in overtime, ending the match in a 6-5 win for the Kings.

With such a fantastic victory in overtime, and a close game at that, the Kings will be tough to beat in their next match on November 25 against the Ponoka Stampeders.
