Getting to the core of the issue for youth is the main goal for Calgary Rural Primary Care Network (CRPCN) here in Wheatland County.   They have asked stakeholders to participate in a survey outlining, and identifying topics young people may need assistance with.

The CRPCN wish to change the way local communities look at healthcare, and reinforce the need for illness prevention.  They believe this goal can be achieved by providing support, and education from family doctors and healthcare teams.

The CRPCN recognize that the Strathmore, and Wheatland County youth population has distinct, diverse requirements and more support is required.

The survey has two categories they are seeking information on.  One survey is directed at the parent while the other on youth ages 11 to 24.  The questions are the same except the portion where they ask parents how many children they have within the target audience.  The youth questions first inquire your grade, but then focuses on different fields of concern such as video game addiction, bullying and LGBTQ2S+ issues.

The next series of questions discuss the resources clients may use and possible scenarios where they might reach out for additional help.

The survey can be found on the Calgary Rural Primary Care Network Facebook page.
