RCMP seized multiple vehicles and trailers on Southern Alberta rural property
The Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) has recovered numerous stolen vehicles on rural Vulcan County property. Upon arrival at that property, Vulcan RCMP saw a man dive away in a stolen GMC Sierra pickup truck; he was arrested shortly after. One officer sustained a minor injury during the arrest. On April 9, SAD CRU, with the assistance of the RCMP Auto Theft Unit and Vulcan RCMP, executed a search warrant at the rural Vulcan County property. During that time, the RCMP located the following: 12 stolen pickup trucks A stolen travel trailer 2 stolen utility trailers 2 stolen dirt bikes According to the RCMP, evidence led them to believe the property was being used as a chop shop, all vehicles and trailers were stolen from Calgary and surrounding communities, and all registered owners have been notified. 30-year-old William McIntosh from Okotoks has been charged with the following: Flight from police, Assault on a police officer causing bodily harm, Resist arrest, Fail to comply with release conditions (x6), Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, Possession of a controlled substance- crystal meth, Possession of a controlled substance- fentanyl.
