For the last six years, the Gleichen Pond Hockey Association has put together games to bring out people to play for the love of the game.  February 9, 2019 was one such day and even though sub-zero temperatures stopped the outdoor portion of the games, they still were able to continue within the Gleichen arena.

Paul Sonsteby, one of the coaches said,"We host pond hockey called GPA and we coach every Tuesday and Thursday night when we play and we are at about 100 players strong.  When we play we get together teams of five, or six and then we rotate."
