The indoor track at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre is open this week for drop-in users with modified hours for the first week.
Eugenia Bravo was the first person to use the track on Monday morning, Bravo is excited to have this facility in Strathmore and looks forward to using it every day. She plans to come in do her run and then finish with yoga.
"I listened to the radio and heard the opening was going to be today and this morning when I opened my Facebook I saw again it was open and I said I'm going," Bravo said
After the delays in opening the facility, the staff is looking forward to this year now that they are open to the public.
Mayor Pat Fule said, "It's a soft opening we want to get a handle on things to see how they go, it's drop-in only for that first week we are not taking any bookings."
"Starting the first week of February the facility is going to be open and the large field will be open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m," said Fule.
