A 58-year-old man has been charged in relation to sex assaults against two children on Siksika Nation.
On February 5, Gleichen RCMP responded after a complaint of sex assaults involving minors. It’s alleged that a non-nation member sexually assaulted two children under the age of 12 years, over an extended period of time.
Police executed two search warrants and seized computers, cell phones and electronic storage devices.
The man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation of a young person, invitation to sexual touching, child pornography, forcible confinement and assault and uttering threats.
The suspect was released after a judicial hearing on a $5,000 no cash recognizance with conditions. He will appear at Siksika Provincial Court on February 21.
The name of the accused is withheld to protect the identity of the underage victims.
