The Strathmore Motor Products Sports Center was originally set to open early November and a sneak-a-peek event was planned for November 8, 2018, and then ultimately canceled due to construction delays.

A month later and things are finally coming to completion. The Town of Strathmore toured the facility and noted the new baffling in the ceiling and the final work on the track is making the center look fantastic.  Council also made some decisions in regards to the facility recently.

Ty Tomasta, communication ambassador said, "We felt it was not quite ready for public showcasing and they really wanted that wow factor for the reveal.  This will be a world-class facility and people will be visiting from all across Alberta.  This facility can potentially be a big revenue generator for the town of Strathmore."

The installation of a reinforced floor invites the possibility of larger displays such as auto shows and trade shows that the town never had the ability to do before.  There has been a high level of interest from indoor sports associations like lacrosse and soccer leagues.

There have been discussions in regards to a possible multi-facility pass that would allow users to have access to all the centers for one fee, but the administration has not yet proposed the suggestion for council's deliberation.
