The Wheatland Kings played at home against the Okotoks Bisons in last night's game. By the end of the closely fought match the win went to the Bisons.

The first period started off slow at first, but halfway into the period the Bisons got their first point of the game. The Kings followed up soon after with two points. The first one was scored by Isaac Benoit from Garret Vander Ploeg, while the second point was scored also by Benoit, but from Thomas Tyson. Five minutes before the end of the period the Bisons got their second point of the night, ending the period in a 2-2 tie.

The second period had a point earned for the Bisons in the first thirty seconds of the period, but the rest of the period was a defensive one, ending the second period in a 3-2 for the Bisons.

The third period started off with another point for the Bisons within the first few minutes of the period. Near the halfway point of the period however the Kings got their third point of the match. Right after their goal the Bisons got themselves a ten minute penalty for misconduct. Even with the penalty the match ended with the victory going to the Bisons 4-3.

With a tough fought battle for the Kings, the team will have to come together when they face off against the Coaldale Copperheads this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Strathmore.
