The Wheatland Kings played a hard fought home against the Blackfalds Wranglers on January 18. By the end of the match the victory went to the Kings.

The first period had a first goal for the Kings in the first 20 seconds of the period, earned by Lucas Muenchrath from Isaac Benoit. The rest of the first period was fast paced, ending the first period 1-0 Kings.

The second period had a second goal for the Kings, earned by Rylee Herbert from Mitch Desserre in the first five minutes. The Kings followed up with a third goal five minutes late by Cole Busslinger from Brenden Moore. Five minutes later the Kings got their fourth goal of the match by Cody Caron from Isaac Benoit, bringing the second period to an end with a 4-0 for the Kings.

The third period started up with a fifth goal for the Kings in the first three minutes of the period by Cole Busslinger from Kody Hammond. A few minutes later the Wranglers earned their first goal of the match. The rest of the period was played defensively until near the end of the match, where a brawl broke out. This earned multiple 10 minute penalties for the Kings. A few minutes later and another fight broke out, giving the Kings two more 10 minute and five minute penalties. Even through all the fighting the Kings took the win for this game, ending the match 5-1 Kings.

With such a roughly fought game for the Kings, they will be tough to beat when they take on the Cochrane Generals on Friday, January 25.
