The second suspect has been apprehended in relation to a theft of a motor vehicle and robbery that took place outside the City of Brooks on March 2, 2022.

Travis Seitz (31) of Cypress County, was located in the Village of Duchess, located approximately 15 kilometres north of Brooks. Seitz was located with the assistance of officers from the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) who had been assisting with the investigation into locating Seitz.

“From the start of this investigation until the apprehension of both suspects the Brooks RCMP has been supported by the South Eastern ALERT, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Emergency Response Team, as well as multiple members of the public providing assistance with tips into potential sightings,” says Cpl. Josh Argue. “This is a perfect example of the police and the community working together to bring a safe and successful conclusion to this incident.”

Seitz has been arrested on his outstanding warrants and is charged with the following offences:

Robbery, Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, and Fail to comply with a probation order.

Seitz remains in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment for his injuries sustained in the collision on March 2, 2022
