Rori Holm is Wheatland Crossing School's Valedictorian for the class of 2023, and her hard work and dedication in academics have made her well deserving of the title.

While she is a little bit nervous to be Valedictorian because she has to write a speech, she also says that it's nice and rewarding to be recognized for all of her hard work.

"I haven't started the speech yet, but I have to have it done by Friday next week, so I'll probably get it started this weekend and I have no idea what I'm going to say yet."

After graduation, Rori will be making the move to Toronto to study in her first year of humanitarians at the University of Toronto (U of T) but she hopes to go into political science and from there hopes to make it into Law school.

"If Law school doesn't work out then I would try to get my masters in political science and maybe just become a professor. I am not quite sure."

Rori is excited about the move so that she can experience something different than what she has always known.

"I'm excited to go somewhere a little more different than the country lifestyle, something more urban."

As for the immediate future, Rori hopes to enjoy  the summer spending time with friends and family before she heads off to Toronto for university. Looking back on her time in high school, she had some advice for future high school graduates.

"Definitely just try not to fall behind and do  half an hour of work a day, even if it's just that, then you should be caught up just a little bit of everything every day and stay on top of things as well."

Rori will be celebrating his graduation on May 26 in the Wheatland Crossings School gymnasium.
